ATLANTA, GEORGIA, JULY-27-1996: Defending champion Linford Christie of Great Britain was disqualified after two false starts during the men's 100m dash final. His response time after the gun sound was less than 0.2 second when he committed the second false start. According to the rules, it is not considered to be reflection, but rather anticipation. "I'm innocent," he shouted and refused to leave the track after being disqualifed. |
