BEFUS SPORTS

Greetings and welcome to Befus Sports. This is the initial venture into the world of cyberspace for us and we hope you will enjoy the visit. We have been handicaping sports for over ten years and have developed systems that we hope will be satisfactory to provide you with a acceptable level of winners. Our first few years were basicly hit and miss and we lost money (ours, not our friends and clients which is more than many can say).

As the years passed we sharpened our skills and feel confident enough to post them for others to see. The man most responsible for our improved record is DAVE COMPTON. You will find a link to his site below and if you make only one visit a week to a wagering site let it be his. We post our plays here to add pressure to ourselves as we learn more about the sports wagering business. Yes business. If you regard it as anything else you are doomed to abject failure. Dave posts his as a service. It costs you nothing and you get the advice of a PRO. Figure it out for yourselves. Our primary interest has been in the NFL where we have exceeded 60% winners two of the past three years. We also handicap basketball, although our success there has hovered at about the 57% mark with marked ups and downs, and baseball. The 1998 season was our first and we have a nice profit in our inagural effort.

We will provide you with some food for thought if nothing else. There will be some links to sites that we have found useful and profitable. There is no such thing as a sure thing and we strongly recommend single unit plays on all selections, ours or yours. If you are not familiar with the Kelly Criterion, I suggest you avail yourself of any of the various books on that subject as your first step toward understanding this difficult business. As Dave says, "Read anything you can find by the late, great Huey Mahl". He was brilliant and if reading him doesn't make you a winner it will keep you from being an absolute idiot. Money management may not be the key to victory (handicapping skills do count), but it is the key to avoid certain defeat. Good luck and good hunting.
