TEAM INFORMATION

Foundation : 1970

History :

Bozkurt Soccer Club ( "Bozkurt" , gray wolf in english) was founded in 1970 by the following: Selahattin Anginer, Enver Ozden, Muhammed Teke, Faruk Abayhan, and Ismail Bayramoglu. The club was first organised by Selahattin Anginer, an ex-Turkish Airforce officer and the gentlemen above formed the first executive committee. First club president was Enver Ozden. First general manager was Muhammed Teke.First general secretary was Ismail Bayramoglu. First treasurer was Faruk Abayhan.

The club was organised and founded in the Karacay Camii (The Moslem Mosque at 32 Chestnut St. Paterson NJ) with little financial and economic sources. First economic support was approximately $ 1800 contributed by the Karacay Turkish Community in NJ. The colors of the club ( red and white) were taken from the flag of the only existing independent Turkish state at that time, the Republic of Turkey .

The main objective of the foundation of the club was to keep the young turkish generation away from the seductive night life and bad habits. The main body of the first team consisted of young inexperienced Karacay and Azeri Turks. Strict club rules and hardwork made this inexperienced young team , one of the best soccer team ever existed in New Jersey.

Currently Bozkurt has become a multi-cultural, multi-lingual team with many young and talented players with different ethnic backgrounds such as turkish, circussian, hispanic, american, yemenese, palestinien, albanian, lebanese, macedonian and greek.
