ORIOLES MAGIC: The Baltimore Orioles have catipalted to the top of the American League East after a start of 17 wins in 24 games. With numerous injuries to key players the Orioles would have had their fare share of excuses. Instead the boys in black and orange have risen to the top by playing fundimentally sound baseball and without the homers of 1996 when they set the Major League Standard for most in a season. Former yankee, Jimmy Key has led the pitching staff along with Mike Mus- sina and Keith Erickson. Randy Meyers has led a sound bullpen as the Closer.
Offensive heroics have been led by Brady Anderson,Cal Ripken, Rapheal Palmeiro as well as off season acquisition Eric Davis. All Star 2nd baseman Roberto Alomar hasn't shown his talents due to an ankle injury which occurred just before Spring Training.
The Washington Bullets of the NBA are now the Washington Wizards after losing three close playoff games to Chicago and his Airness, Mr. Jordan. The Bullets underachieved much of the season and had to fight hard down the stretch to make the playoffs. However, despite no no.1 draft choice again for the 3rd straight year, the future looks bright. The team unfortunalely moves from Landover,Maryland into the District of Columbia's new MCI Center on 7th . Good Luck to Bernie Bickerstaff who's coaching led the Bullets and to Rod Strickland , Chris Weber, Juwann Howard and George Mureasan. Next year should see the "Wizards" rise to even bigger things.

This homepage will contain information and commentary on some of the Professional teams playing in Maryland including the Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Ravens as well as the college basketball and football teams at University of Maryland/College Park. I will also try to include some of the Baltimore area schools such as Coppin State, Towson, Loyola as well as the Naval Academy in Annapolis. I will change things several times a week and add comentary from an Alternate Point of View. I am a fan, a paying fan whose wallet is not bottomless. I've been attending major league sports since the 1950's.
