"Each day of human life contains joy and anger, pain and pleasure,
darkness and light, growth and decay. Each moment is etched with nature's grand
design - do not try to deny or oppose the cosmic order of things".
What is Aikido?
AIKIDO is a modern japanese martial art, not violent, that was developed in the beginnings of this century by Morihei Ueshiba. The Founder died in 1969 at the age of 86 years old. Being AIKIDO effective as a martial art, its essence surpasses the resolutions of conflicts. The Founder, based on his rigorous training on various traditional japanese jujutsus, spent his years developing his art as way to refine and raise the human spirit.
The Founder created what he called "AIKIDO", "THE WAY OF THE HARMONY WITH THE FORCES AND PRINCIPLES OF NATURE". AIKIDO is a real BUDO, that means a path in which the sharp edge of martial training is used as a "path" towards spiritual growth. Even thought AIKIDO popularity has grown, it remains loyal and genuine to the goals of the "BUDO". Its methods are based on the profound faith of his Founder in austere training, to improve the human spirit by a inexhaustible refinement and perfection of the mind and body.
