News and Info

The '97 All Star Game was won by the AL 3-1 on July 8. Cleveland's Sandy Alomar hit a 2 run homer to put the AL up 3-1 and eventually give his team the win. The homer earned him the All-Star MVP award.

Sandy Alomar's hitting streak ended at 30 games on July 10, two days after he won the All-Star game MVP award. His streak was the longest in the majors so far this year and was also second longest in Indians history, just one game short of that mark.
