Goaltending Rule
.
Goalies may play in a maximum
of 70 games this season. Monitor your goaltender games played, to
ensure you don't go over the 70 limit. This doesn't include the playoffs,
where goalies can play every playoff game, should you choose.
.
Trading Goes Unlimited!!
.
Trading was limited to importing
7 players during the trading "season". This was due to a projected
lack of spare time on my part. Due to recent circumstances, I will
now have the spare time available to accomodate "unlimited" trading.
Free Agency has been approved
by the league's GM's. There will be a Free Agency draft held in August
of 2000, with the same rules as our Entry Draft. Here are the codes
for players on the League
Rosters page;
-
"X" prior to a player's last
name, denotes a player that didn't qualify on the APBA disk for this season,
but did play the previous NHL season (97/98) --- these players are considered
retiring players, and while many may return to the NHL, and the WLPH next
season, they are considered "bonus" players for this year, and may not
be traded
-
"F" prior to a player's last
name, denotes a player that will become a Free Agent following this upcoming
season --- next summer, teams will be given a choice to either; (A) release
all of their Free Agents, and participate in both the Free Agent &
Entry Drafts; (B) protect (resign) one of their Free Agents, and forfeit
all of their Free Agent Draft Picks or; (C) protect (resign) two of their
Free Agents, and forfeit all of their Free Agent Draft Picks as well as
all of their Entry Draft Picks --- Free Agents may be traded
-
"X-F" prior to a player's last
name, denotes a player that will become a Free Agent following this upcoming
season, but didn't qualify to be included on the APBA disk for this season
--- they are considered "Bonus" players, and may not be traded --- should
they reemerge in the NHL this season, and qualify for next year's APBA
disk, the "X" portion will be removed, and they will be considered as simply
Free Agents, with the above rules for "F" players taking effect
.
The link for next year's Expansion
Draft is now available. Teams will have 2 options regarding the draft;
-
A team may simply give Atlanta the
same player they initially drafted from your roster, and the Thrashers
will have to accept that player
-
Should you choose to keep that player,
you will have to protect 10 forwards (regardless of NHL experience) and
4 Defensemen --- Free Agents, and retiring player may not be included on
your protection list (unless it's a Free Agent you resigned) -- teams with
2 goalies or fewer (excluding Free Agent and retiring goalies) do not have
to make a goaltender available -- teams with 3 goalies or more (excluding
Free Agent and retiring goalies) may protect 1 goalie, but must make their
remaining net minders available to Atlanta
Teams may only lose one player to expansion,
with the Nashville Predators being exempt from the draft entirely (as they
were in the actual Atlanta Expansion Draft). Teams may attempt to
acquire players on the expansion draft list via trades, and transfer them
to Atlanta should you want to do option 1 listed above. Should any
of the players on Atlanta's actual Draft list be listed as Free Agents,
that player may be transferred to Atlanta. The Free Agent tag will
be removed, and considered signed by the Thrashers. Atlanta will
draft 2nd in each round of both the Free Agent draft, as well as the Entry
draft.
