• San Diego Int'l Triathlon (1k, 30k, 10k) on June 28. Call (619) 689-8930. Calm swim in protected bay. Hilly bike, but very scenic. Flat run along coast.
• Vineman Int'l Triathlon: July 14, 1998, in Santa Rosa.
• Vineman: July 25, 1998, in Santa Rosa (Half and Full Ironman distances) Call (707) 528-1630
• Camp Pendleton Int'l Triathlon (1.5k, 40k, 10k) Call (714) 240-8547.
• Mike & Rob's Most Excellent Triathlon. Half Ironman: August 9, 1998, in Ventura. Call (818) 707-8867. There's been rumors of it being cancelled. If anyone knows, please email me.
• Nautica Malibu Triathlon (0.5mi, 18mi, 4mi) September 20, 1998, in Malibu (well, Zuma Beach). Call (818) 707-8866. Where Robyn Williams and other stars compete. Ocean swim (land start), bike up P.C.H. to Leo Carillo St. Beach and back, then run south along beach sidewalk. Festivities follow.
• Mission Bay Triathlon (500m, 15k, 5k) October 4, 1998, in San Diego. Call (619) 689-8930. Calm swim in protected waters. Relatively flat bike and run.

Miscellany:

• Anyone want to cut me a deal on new wheels? Looking to spend $200-$300
• Where I train: I swim at Corona del Mar High School on Monday and Wednesday nights at 5:30 with some other triathletes/swimmers. I bike on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 5:30 meeting at the Fluor Daniel parking lot and riding through Irvine and Newport Beach. I run from my house in Irvine along the Back Bay. I'll see you out there.
