BITARA means unique, incomparable and sole. Through this program, MARA believes and confident that if these students are given the opportunity to learn in an organized formal education, they would be able to achieve outstanding intellectual level, academic excellency and robust faith in God. After completing this program, they are to be called "genius, brilliant and pious students".

    These genius, brilliant and pious students are those who performed very well in Lower Secondary Examination (PMR) and they will continue to succeed for 4 consecutive semesters in MRSM BITARA Langkawi. In the beginning, this program was known as Special Education Program (PKP) which first implemented in year 1988 in MRSM Kulim (Kolej MARA Kulim). Even though MRSM BITARA Langkawi never had the chance to implement PKP in its education system, it has become the first MRSM in Malaysia to utilize BITARA concept upon its opening in early 1999. The effectiveness of BITARA program will be proven in our first SPM examination in year 2000.
