History
The First United Pentecostal Church of Brandon, MS, was started in 1973 by Bro. Lloyd Adcock and his wife. Since there was no Pentecostal church in Brandon, Bro. Adcock had to start the church from nothing. Several people gave monetary support. The first church was in a storefront. After a few years, a new church building was built on US Hwy 468. In Nov. 1993, the church building was blown away by a tornado. After the storm, a hymnal from the church was found several miles away opened to the pages with the songs: "How Firm a Foundation" and "I Feel Like Traveling On." While a new building was being built, other church buildings were used for services. Finally, the present building was completed at 1368 Hwy. 80 West in Brandon.
