  • Siagian, Lynnetta  “I graduated from SAUC in 1989 with a BS in Management. I came to Andrews University to pursue my MBA in the fall of 1991. With that degree behind my belt, I opted to take another undergraduate degree in Music which I will be completing by the end of this year (1997).

Currently I am working as a Woman's Dean at Lamson Hall (AU). It's interesting having about 550 "daughters" to care for. Try waking up at 3 am in the morning and taking the sick ones to the hospital...it can be challenging, but also a lot of fun. I get to meet many girls with all sorts of different personalities. That's kinda cool. I'll bet YOU never thought yours truly would end up as a DEAN, did you!!! :)

I am also about to end my "single" years. I finally met someone whom I love very much and want to spend the rest of my life with. His name is Dan Hamstra and he is originally from Michigan. He is a computer guy (nerd) who is currently working at the SDA General Conference office in Silver Springs, MD. We're getting married on July 27, 1997, here in Berrien Springs. I will be moving to Maryland at the end of July. If you are interested in seeing some pictures of us, you can look it up at: http://www.andrews.edu/~hamstra
  • Sinaga, Sheri,   “Greetings from Dallas, Texas! I was a student at SAUC from 1982-1983. I have fond memories of SAUC--the wonderful friends, living in the dorm :), and plenty of fun times! Well, the school thing has not left my life...yet. I am presently finishing up my doctorate program in Intercultural Communication, specializing in Asian and US cultural studies. I am in the midst of writing the dissertation, entitled: "Global Bridges: A comparative study of the cultural values of China, USA and Malaysia." Besides full-time school, I have also delved into the field of cross-cultural training for various US/International corporations interested in understanding Asian cultures. It is fascinating to me to see the high interest in understanding Asia! Meanwhile, I am keeping my nose to the grindstone as I am determined to finish by the end of this year.

On the music side, I have tried to keep some piano playing going in my life. Last year, I was blessed witht the opportunity to record my first CD at the Morton Myerson Symphony Hall, Dallas, Texas. It was very exciting and I am grateful for the opportunity to share in making music.

The Lord has been gracious in my life. I am excited to see an SAUC website and will put the college on my prayer list. Thanks for the chance to share a little of my life with other SAUC alumni.”
