This is the webpage of Singapore's finest school band, unmatched winner of consecutive Gold awards in band competitions over 10 years. We are both a concert and a marching band with foundations in smart British-style footdrill enhanced by our own special Rafflesian touch, admired and imitated by bands around the nation.
The RIMB in its present form was founded in 1965, though it has roots dating back to the early 20th century. It has been with the school through all three campuses, ever maintaining its standards of excellence. Its slick all-black uniform was designed by principal Philip Liau in 1972, coinciding with the move from the Bras Basah to the Grange Rd campus.
This website commemorates the achievements of the RIMB over the years 1988 to 1991 -- 2 Gold medallions in the outdoor band competition, and 2 Gold medallions in the indoor band competition. Do enjoy the literature and the photographs.
