Brief History

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., was founded January 16, 1920 on the campus of Howard University in Washington D.C. by five wonderful women, known as the FIVE PEARLS. These five wonderful young ladies chose not to embrace the tenets of established sororities and charted Zeta Phi Beta to encourage three of the highest standards of scholarship, promote service projects in the community, foster sisterhood; and exemplify the ideal of FINER WOMANHOOD.
