THE
DRAGON
WARRIOR
Order
The
Series had an unusual numbering Scheme. This time around it was not a ploy
to hide missing Parts but rather is a different approach to the Trilogy
Concept. The Game Starts Numerically with Part One, but the Part One is actually
occurring in the middle of the Game Series.
DRAGON WARRIOR (NES) – This game was the first to be released, but as said before, would actually be the second game in the Trilogy. The plot was a standard plot, rescue the Princess from the Dragon and Destroy the Dragon Lord to gain back the Ball of Light. This does not sound that grand, until you get to Part III. The greatest challenge of this game is that you are all alone in the quest. At least the enemies fought you only 1 on 1. This game is hard, but I really like the Remix that came out for the GameBoy Color, Dragon Warrior I+II. Nice game, the best feature added, the bank.
DRAGON WARRIOR II (NES) – This game was the last of the Trilogy and the Second of the series numerically. This game introduced a three character party. The world is 4 time larger, and this time you have a boat to travel by to make it to all of the new lands.
DRAGON WARRIOR III (NES) – This game was by far the greatest game of all time in my book at least. This game introduced so many new ideas. It is hard to even think of them all, but some of the main ones are Night and Day (and towns even changing with the time), Staff of Change, Choice of Character Classes, the Shrine of Dharma and all of the Secrets of the games revealed.
to be continued...
