Anime is Japanese animation, which has gained a world wide following. Unlike North America, animation in Japan is considered to be an art form. Although there is anime for children, a large proportion is aimed at adult audiences with more mature themes. Of course even anime for kids is more thought provoking than many adult shows in North America.
    Anime of course has it's own distinct characteristics; many of which are hard to get used to at first. The face of anime characters is of course the most distinct feature, but some other things such as how everyone can jump 50 feet in the air, and how every color in the visible spectrum is considered "normal" hair color take some getting used to, but if you can get past that, anime is something that is definitely worth seeing. Watch it sometime and see if you like it... you might be surprised how interesting cartoons can really be!
