The show that knocked Baywatch out of the number 1 spot for most watched syndicated show around the world!! Hercules, the Legendary Journey is number 2 so that bumps Baywatch down to a sorry . Xena deserves all it's viewers too! It's a kick-ass show with everything anyone could want. Action, humor, great scripts, acting and costumes~~You name it, Xena has it.
In case you don't know the plot, Xena, Warior Princess, is about the travels of bad-girl-turned-good Xena. She used to work alone kicking some bad guy butt (usually Roman soldiers) but now has a sidekick, Gabrielle. Gabrielle is a bard and used to be really clumsy and wear long skirts and loose blouses until she and Xena ran into the Amazons and those warrior women claimed her as their princess and taught the Gab-ster how to kick some serious butt, not to mention dress like them. Gone are the peasant clothes~~replaced by what some people call "that green sport's bra" and a short skirt that would distract any tough trying to mess with them. While they're staring at her legs, Gabrielle beats the tar out of them with her staff. There's never any blood, though--Just a lot of "uggs" and falling to the ground over dramatically.
Some people claim that Xena and Gabrielle are really lovers and will some day "get together." I think these people have too much time on their hands. They're probally the same people who watch Disney movie's frame-by-frame to find the dust that spells S-E-X in the Lion King and whatever else. Xena and Gabrielle have been through a lot together and naturally they're close. . .but not THAT close. Joxer (my fav character though most people can't stand his comic relief antics) is in love with Gabrielle and YOU KNOW they'll end up together before the show is over. They just gotta. Joxer is wearing Gabbie down. . .She's been jealous on more than one occasion and if it's a Joxer episode, Xena is never around. Hmmm. I think the writers are trying to say something there. Joxer= every single scene with Gabrielle and no Xena.
My favorite episode is A Comedy of Eros where Cupid's son Bliss gets a hold of Daddy's arrows and all hell breaks lose. Gabbie is ga-ga over Joxer and Xena chases after a guy she supposedly "hates."
