Biodata of Grandmaster Soke Clement Soo

 

 

 

Grandmaster Soke Clement Soo started Karate in 1966 and had won many tournaments in national and international levels. Quite a number of the heads of the other groups were students of his before and he has produced many champions. He was responsible for the formation of Malaysia Karate-do Federation in 1978 by organising the Protem Committee Meeting at the Fui Chui Association building.

Malaysia took part in the first ASEAN Karate Championships organised by Indonesia in 1979 whereby Soke Clement Soo was appointed as the first national coach and Malaysia emerged as the overall champion.

Today, Soke Clement Soo is the Secretary General of Malaysia Karate Federation (MAKAF), Asian Union of Karate-Do Organisations (AUKO) Referee Council Member, Referee Council Chairman of AUKO and MAKAF and the first Malaysia to be qualified as World Karate Federation (WKF) referee.
