The Eta Mu chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi is a peculiar chapter. Unlike other homepages on the Nupenet, here at Eta Mu, I believe in "keeping it real." We have an established standard when it comes to grades, dress, impressions, and overall style. We don't just "claim" the prettyboy image, we live it. On Tuesdays, PHI NU PI, is uplifted to the highest as we attend all our classes in shirt and ties. We do this with the intention of showing the campus that there are Black men, who are not selling drugs, abusing women, and value an education. On Thursdays, our chapter dons Kappa "Paro" for paro day. Eta mu has a rich history, famous brothers, and has established itself as one of the most productive chapters in the Southern province; not to mention one of the prettiest.
Socially, the phrase is an understantment. We have the highest grade point average of White AND Black fraternities, host the LIVEST parties, a top notch step team, a excelling Kappa League, and 15 plus brothers who much insure that the Kappa's continue to set the standards that others follow. WHEN ETA MU WALKS, THE WORLD LISTENS. I would be less than a Nupe to lie and say that we do not have out "T-shirt" wearers. I would be less than a Nupe to say that our chapter does not have its share of brothers who indulge in smoking controlled substances and overindulging in alcohol. I will be man enough to say that our chapter DOES NOT embrace these practices. I am honored to say that we have an OUTSTANDING chapter advisor(Brother Elijah Slaughter of the Anniston-Piedmont Alumni chapter) and upstanding chapter leaders. Eta Mu has its problems like any other chapter, but we have our problem solvers unlike some chapters. You do not have to have a position to be a leader. Even fraternity brothers can be jealous; however God has truly been with us over the years. We take pride in watching other greek organizations attempt to duplicate our every action and reaction. Jacksonville State University is our empire and since October 13, 1973 PHI NU PI has been a dynasty.
