Pour Celeste et Blaise (vieilles photos), suivez la flèche ® |
I was born in Namur (Belgium) in 1970. I lived in Wépion (the capital of strawberries) before moving to Venray (the Netherlands) in 1994. I studied economics at the University of Namur (Belgium) and completed my PhD thesis at Tilburg University (the Netherlands). My main research interests are labour economics and the economics of inequality, poverty and income mobility.
My hobbies include fencing and photography.
I have completed my PhD thesis Minimum protection and Poverty in Europe. An Economic Analysis of the Subsidiarity Principle within EU Social Policy. It is an economic research in the field of social security and poverty in the EU. I looked more particularly and the dynamics of poverty, long-term poverty and the role of the EU in redistributive policy. It has been published in 2004 with the international publisher Edward Elgar. For my research, I used panel data for the Netherlands (SEP), Germany (GSOEP), Great Britain (BHPS) and all EU countries (ECHP).
I am currently researcher at ROA (the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market) at Maastricht University. I have previously worked for OSA (Institute for Labour Market Research) and TISSER, at Tilburg University.
For my empirical work I use socio-economic panel surveys from the UK (BHPS), Germany (GSOEP), the Netherlands (OSA panel), and Belgium (SEP, PSBH). Other micro-data studies are the PSID, LIS and the ECHP.
Have a look at my CV and publications list.
