The University of Miami sits on a large magnificent campus with all the facilities one can need. I am happy attending classes here. When ah tell yuh, they full of money. Good ting too, otherwise I wouldn't have the scholarship. Their courses and programmes are very much accredited and, after sitting A-levels, the work for this first year was easy for me. I am on a few honour rolls and societies but that is really no big achievement, though the natives seem to think it is. Actually I think of that as a big joke, seeing that I hardly had to make any real effort at all.
On the cultural side, let me just say that living in this place has made me love T&T more than I ever have before, and I have declared it sacred soil. We Trinis should really be thankful for having grown up in such a beautiful "rainbow country" (take dat, Winnie).

On the other hand, while not academically challenged, I was severely physically challenged during this last semester as I was a memeber of the men's novice crew (rowing) team. Well... I have never been so fit in my life! I got a taste of what it is like being an athlete in the Nike sponsored UM athletic department. The training was damn hard. My team didn't really achieve anything spectular during the season and, unfortunately, that was also my last rowing season. I really can't handle that kind of stress anymore. That has been my only stress here. I also busied myself being the treasurer of the T&T club. Sorry that I can't fill you in on all the juicy details of campus life as I don't live on campus.
