The Department of Foreign Languages of the Mari Teacher's Training Institute of the town Yoshkar-Ola (Russia) is privileged to inform you of opening short-termed (14 days ) Russian Language Courses for Foreign students. (courses program)

The courses offer the following subjects:

SPOKEN RUSSIAN. New directions in the Russian colloquial language. Entering new lexical items into the language after the reconstruction (since 1990);

PROBLEMS OF TRANSLATING NEW LAYERS of newspaper and political lexis, translation of pun and international words.

AN INTERMEDIATE COURSE:

TEACHING METHODS IN RUSSIA

Groups of 13-15 students are accepted.

The education is supplemented by a rich entertaining home-stay program, both winter and summer. Russian folklore and rites, both Christian and Pagan are subject for close investigation during the program.

Yoshkar-Ola is a unique Russian town in province, where Christian and Pagan cultures exist together. It is located in the most picturesque basin of the Volga river and is remarkable for its incomparable nature - on it's small territory of 23,2 thousand square km more than 400 lakes and 200 rivers are situated. The educational program presupposes lessons in the most interesting places, including the Sheremetjev Castle, situated on the very bank of the Volga river, and most beautiful lakes.
The program also provides close communication with Russian people both in families and during the entertaining program. Climate allows swimming, fishing and boating in summer and in winter - enjoying all the possible fun Russia can offer: riding in Russian troikas, winter fishing, skiing in winter forests.

Constant medical attendance is provided. A qualified doctor will accompany the group en route.

Families will demonstrate utmost hospitality, typical only of Russian Province and offer an alternative entertaining program. Participants will live in a separate bedroom. If special diets are needed, please inform in advance.
