Josh's Time at the
University at Buffalo
I've been at the University at Buffalo since my freshman year. Right out of high school. Originally, I came here certain that I was going to study pharmacy at the school. In fact, one of the main reasons I came to this school was the simple fact that it was the only school in the SUNY system that had a Professional Pharmacy curriculum.  I managed to get through the two years of the pre-Pharmacy curriculum and was even accepted into the Pharmacy Practice Program the following Spring.
From there, you'd think that I'd be long into the wonderful world of Pharmacy by now.  But you'd be wrong.

To make a long story short, that Summer, after a lot of thinking and a period of very difficult decision making, I decided that I didn't want to be a Pharmacy major anymore. I was going into it for the wrong reasons, and really had no idea whether or not I'd be happy doing it to begin with.

And now, I'm a Senior at the University and even though I'm not in the School of Pharmacy, I love being here. This place has so much more to offer than just the pharmacy degree. A beautiful campus, wonderful people, and quite the education ;)

There! I hope you have enjoyed that little plug for UB.  Now, how about a little bit more about me? After all, you didn't come here to learn about UB. You're here finding out about ME! Smart choice by the way :)

You might be asking yourself, 'where does a person go after abandoning acceptance into the pharmacy program?' That's a good question. Well, now I'm attempting a double major. I'm working toward a
B.S. in Psychology as well as a B.S. in Biochemical Pharmacology. (Which is actually a degree program of the undergraduate Medical School.) And this semester, I'm really happy with how things are going.  The classes are much more interesting, and even -- dare I say it? -- enjoyable. And I feel a lot less stressed, except around test time. Academically, things are going much better for me. And that is ALWAYS a good thing.

NEW: Recently, I received word that I was re-accepted into the Pharmacy Practice Program here at U.B. So after graduating in May of 2002, I will be back at UB starting Fall 2002, for four years of Pharmacy School.
