CAMPUS JOURNALISM WORKSHOP

Since 1994, UPJC has been conducting journalism workshops for elementary and high school students in various parts of the country. As the flagship activity of UPJC to promote and develop campus journalism, the CJW had been held in Manila, Camarines Sur, Marinduque, Quezon, La Union, Batangas, Mindoro, Pangasinan, Laguna, and recently in selected Metro Manila schools. Over 200 high school students participate in this event.

UPJC's last CJW was held last November 2003 at the Manresa High School in BF Homes Parañaque.

UPJC WEEK

On December 8-12 2003, UPJC held a week‑long celebration of its 49th anniversary. The celebration kicked off by the unveiling of the UPJC exhibit showcasing the organization's achievements and activities for the past 49 years.

BEYOND

“Beyond” is UPJC's semestral newsletter. This compilation showcases the JCers’ talents in news writing, investigative reporting, feature writing and editorial writing. Last semester, UPJC succeeded in releasing two issues of Beyond, issue I entitled "The State of My Nation" tackling the conditions of different areas in the Philippines. Issue 2, entitled "The UPJC Anthology", featured different perspectives on several socially relevant issues.

ALTERNATIVE CLASSROOM LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Every semester, UP Diliman holds the Alternative Classroom Learning Experience (ACLE) to provide the students with relevant knowledge not normally taught in classrooms. UPJC has been participating in the ACLE to offer the UP students a glimpse of what the real world of journalism is about. Last semester, UPJC held an ACLE entitled "Uncovering the Media: The Oakwood Mutiny Coverage". The ACLE was very well attended, with guest speakers Manny Mogato of Newsbreak, Charo Logarta and Alvin Elchico of ABS-CBN, and veteran photojournalist Gil Nartea.
