| The formation and maintenance of online relationships is something that I have been curious about for several years. How do people form close friendships and relationships without ever meeting each other face to face? How are these online relationships different from real-life relationships? What effect does computer-mediated communication have on relationships formed in real life? These questions are only a few of the many that have crossed my mind. I set out to answer such questions as these in my Advanced Social Psychology Lab projects. In order to study the dynamics of online relationships, I have conducted a series of interviews and distributed a number of surveys examining the questions I mentioned above, among others.
