Hello, (my friends and my enemies..)

(This is a second attempt to leave my mark in cyberspace..I hope you like it..)

My name is Polina(or Apostolia). I'm from Greece and particularly from an island called Lesvos. I was born 21 years ago in Athens..but I 've stayed in Agia Paraskevi (in Lesvos) since I was three. (that makes me "kasma"..I don 't think I can explain right now what I mean, because it will take me more than one page..you can email me and I 'll tell you..)

But such is life.. I made a decission to study abroad.. in fact to follow my sisters steps that came in the States studied at Brown University (you can see a Brown tradition here) and ..who now is at Tufts University of Dental Medicine.

I don't think I could go any further than I am now from my home. (don't get me wrong..I love my family and I love Greece too.)

Anyway, I ended up in paradise called Brown University

Now my concentration form says "Psychology"..and not "Economics" (to the disappointment of my parents..)(It's OK, I love them anyway J ).

Last semester i took a CS course. And this summer I worked in a Sleep lab Here in Providence. I must admit that I had a very taugh time, but with the help of a very close friend I managed to see my experience as "interesting" rather than "aweful". Here is one essay that I wrote during the summer, somewhat explaining my unstable state of mind.

Thank God, I have many friends here at Brown that make my life easier and better in many ways. (Yet, I miss all my friends from back home..but as I said before..such is life.. And after all no one is in Lesvos right now.. the famous "klika" is spread all over the place: from US (moi) to Cyprus (Giorgos) and from England (Eleni) to Athens (Andreas and Monica).)

• Listening to music,
• Finding things that annoy me to death,
• Reading some good comics,
and sometimes reading greek newspapers, and magazines,
• Spending hours and hours on Home Coming.(trust me, it can become pretty addictive..)

I think I've covered everything conserning myself.. So I 'll make like a tree and leave.
