1. Deadline for the outline, October 15 By your next seminar you should pick a topic and draft an outline. You can change your topic later if necessary but the key issue now is to start the process. Professor Ilkka Kauranen will come to Sannäs on Friday and tell you more about the actual writing process and answer your questions. How do you get started? - think about your daily work and what kinds of projects would benefit your organization and your own career - talk to your colleagues, boss, mentors, friends - once you have come up with a possible topic you can contact Karl or Ilkka to discuss its feasibility Remember: the topic should have something to do with marketing but otherwise there is a lot of flexibility. In the past, topics have covered marketing strategies, competitor analyses, market analyses, segmentation strategies...
2. Deadline for the literature study, November 12 For your fourth seminar you should prepare a presentation for your color/animal/stone group. For this you will need to research some related literature (books, articles) and share the results with your colleagues. You may also tell about your project but since these projects often are confidential this is not mandatory.
3. Deadline for the final paper, January 15, 2000. This means that you will deliver 3 copies of your final product to our office. We will keep one copy for our records, one will go to a language expert and one to Ilkka Kauranen. Typically these papers span 30 pages but the grade is of course based on the content. The grades are pass, good and excellent. If you get an excellent, this will hike up your marketing grade by one (unless of course you already have a 5)!
