At this point, let me make a comment on the weather.  If you think the ups and downs in Kansas are bad, think again.  The temperature when we started out was a comfortable 70 or so.  At the top of the volcano it was about 30 degrees less, because of the altitude and wind.  The searing heat coming up out of the mouth warmed us up quick when we looked over the edge, though.

This is as close as we got to the peak without actually being at the mouth.  A lot of volcanic rock greeted us, making the 35-degree climb even more fun.
