Deep Down!
What site is about a recent film based upon a ship that is two and a half miles below the Atlantic Ocean and was not discovered until 1985? The official Titanic web page! There is only one word that can describe the Titanic site-breathtaking! But this one word does not do the site justice.
The site is all about how James Cameron made the movie Titanic, the history behind the Titanic, and how the crew researched the Titanic. I visited the link containing information on James and his decision to direct a film based on the Titanic tragedy. The site contained facts about the Titanic ,how Cameron and his crew spent three years researching, and writing the movie script.
There are many things to see on the Titanic webpage, but I only chose to talk about a few. Those who love Leonardo DiCaprio will enjoy the insight that he brings about the film. He talks about how he developed his character and how much he enjoyed working with James Cameron. Leonardo talks about Kate Winslet and how they developed their characters together and the fun they had together making the film. Reading about Leonardo was very interesting because I really did not know much about him before this movie. I also liked how he talked about developing his character, but I also enjoyed learning about how actors develop their characters so the audience will become enveloped in the story.
The only problem with the site is that you must have certain features on your computer in order to download some of the information contained on the site. For example the computer I am at does not have quick starts so I was unable to view how the Titanic was built for the movie. If the computer had this program then I would have been able to see how the ship was scaled to almost the full height and width of the actual Titanic. But this is only problem to the site. This is the only thing that I have to complain about because I was not able to see how the Titanic was built for the movie.
Another interesting aspect to the site is you are able to order full-size wall posters and you may also download screen savers for your computer. I found that the screen savers are spectacular. They are scenes from the movie, pictures of the Titanic wreckage from when James Cameron took his crew while they filmed the wreckage.
My favorite thing about the site is the pictures, the graphics and the color that are displayed throughout the site. The pictures bring the site to life and they provide a certain emotional stirring as I navigated the site. The graphics in the site are some of the best that I have ever seen. The coloring adds to the graphics and pictures, which also pulls the site together in ways that I have not seen used before.
I highly recommend the site to anyone who has seen this film and to those who have not. By visiting this site you get the feeling of being part of the film making process. I plan to continue to visit this site whenever I am able. Not only is it a fun site, but it is also an educational and inspirational site as well.
