So, who is Chris Klongpayabal?
Funny you should ask. Chris is a half-Thai, half-American
Texan. He was born on May 7, 1977. He grew up in Winnsboro, about 80
miles from Dallas. Life in Winnsboro was pretty normal. He played football (his nickname was King Kong), basketball, and track. He got interested in the guitar when he was in the seventh grade, and began teaching himself how to play. He got better over time, and started a few bands: Illusions, Midnighters (a country band), and City Slum. He was also involved in the middle school one act play competition: Trifles. Slowly he was moving away from the athletic field toward the Entertainment field. As a freshman in high school, he was moved up to the Junior Varsity Football team to play Right Guard. After that year, he was asked to be starting Center for the Varsity Team. Now, in a small town, that is one of the highest honors you can receive: To be a starter on the varsity team. And Chris would only be a Sophomore. There was only one problem: The football team sucked. Chris decided that he no longer wanted to play football anymore. It was not fun anymore. Of course, the coaches were upset, but there was nothing they could do. They took him out of athletics, and placed him into Theatre Arts. It was here that Chris' love for the theatre blossomed. Under the direction of Mrs. Sandi King, Chris learned to appreciate the profession of theatre, and realized that that was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
He graduated number 5 out of 106 students in May of 1995.
He decided to go to College at ETSU (now called Texas A & M University-Commerce).
At first, he was majored in Business and Theatre, to appease his family. But after one semester, he decided to just concentrate on theatre, and so he did.
He graduated in December of 1999 with a BS in theatre. He moved to Dallas with roommate Frank Thomas. He has a job working with an advertising company, Ad Pages, where he designs ads and helps out with computer problems.
Chris will tell you that he is pretty content with his life. He recently signed with the Campbell Agency, one of the largest Agencies in the Southeast.
