in
Australia

Hello!
Wow... It's been a long time since I've actually updated my webpage... Sorry...
So what have I been up to since I'd graduated
from I.J. (in 2000)?
I spent
roughly a month in N.J.C. (National Junior College) and made lots of friends,
especially with the people in my O.G. (Orientation Group)... After which, I
proceeded to fly to Melbourne (on Valentine's Day! *sob*
But luckily my "kor" was there to send me off,
even though it was so early in the morning...) to continue
my education in Trinity College (Foundation Studies Program)... ^^x That allowed
me to skip a year of (pre-university) education... Hee hee... ^^x Right now,
I've just completed the second year of my university degree-- Bachelor of
Commerce (Actuarial Studies)-- in the University of Melbourne. [While most
friends my age in Singapore would have only completed the first semester of
their university courses... So I'm technically 3 semesters ahead...]
In my
opinion, going to Australia was a right move on my part... I believe I'm now more
outspoken than I was before, less sheltered... And definitely more
independent... (Considering I've had to cook, clean and do everything myself...
*sob*) Above all, it made me appreciate my family
more... So the saying is true... Absence makes the heart grow fonder... Of course, not forgetting that there are
other attributes to being an international student in a foreign country...
Friendships! Now, I have friends from all over the world... (Well, somewhat!)
Want to see pictures as proof of my academic life in Melbourne?
Go ahead... ^^x
But wait... I've forgotten to mention another detail, neither small nor insignificant... Whatever happened to the ol' Dao Huay Club (otherwise known now as the D.H.C)? We've gone our separate ways since 1998. After graduating from I.J., we've all pretty much lost touch with one another. However, things finally changed when I went back home during the holidays in 2003! What happened? Follow the "D.H.C" link and read on to find out...
