Department of Biology

You are about to embark on a wonderful two year course of learning and excitement as you discover the wealth and splendour of the living world..    Biology is the "study of life" and as such is relevant to you, no matter where your interests lie or what profession you eventually choose.  During these two years, you will expand your information and deepen your understanding of life.  You will explore new ideas, new questions and new facts about animals, plants and those organisms that are "in between".

How can you get the most out of this course and prepare yourself to take the MATSEC A level exam?  First, make sure you know what is expected of you.   Remember that answers in science are not always readily available.   The fun and thrill is in the quest.   Learn to think for yourself and use deductive reasoning. This will help you not only in biology but also in life.

plan to put a lot of time into this course.  Remember, this is not just “another course” but rather a science course.  Science does not come easily for most  people.   Some extra effort is expected of you.   I am sure that each one of you is capable of achieving great things but you must be willing to work hard and study a lot.

As your future tutors, we look forward to meeting you and getting to know each and every one of you, in the hope that eventually we might become friends.    We are eager to help you with your personal adventure of discovering the beauty of life!
