EXPERIENCE
Intern: ValueMark West End Behavioral Healthcare, Goochland, VA (Summer 1998)
Worked with the adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations in this psychiatric setting. Assessed patients upon entrance to program, wrote case history, developed goals and intervention techniques, planned and implemented group sessions, documented patients particpation and progress, planned special events.

Secretarial Assistant: HPERD Department, Longwood College, Farmville, VA (Fall 1997)
Assist the department secretary in any way necessary.  Normal duties include answering the phone, typing, word processing, delivering and picking up packages across campus, and photo copying.

Inclusion Coach: Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation, Chesterfield, VA (Summer 1997)
Planned and led activities in which all children could participate.  Adapted activities for children ages 6-13 with autism, down’s syndrome, ADD/ADHD,  emotional disturbances, learning disabilities, and hearing impairments. Identified needs of the children and planned activities that would help reach individual goals.

Volunteer: Prince Edward Parks and Recreation, Farmville, VA (Spring 1997)
Planned and led an outdoor adventure program for the MAPS program (a comprehensive program for at-risk youth in the Farmville area).  Included activities such as climbing wall, rafting trips, and camping skills development.

Camp Counselor: Camp Alkulana, Millboro Springs, VA (Summer 1996)
Worked with children from the inner-city of Richmond.  Responsible for campers in cabin on a 24 basis.   Led hikes, caving trips, evening programs, and arts and crafts programs.  Helped with repelling, camping, and canoeing trips.  Worked with the children on an individual basis to resolve discipline problems and implemented behavior modification techniques.
