For all of you Mac owners out there who LOVE the classic Heroes of Might and Magic II (HOMMII)and are looking for some new and challenging maps to add to the game: Here's the place for you!

If you don't know what kind of a game Heroes of Might and Magic is, check out some of the links below.

I've created this page as a resource for us Mac users as a way to share custom made maps for the game, because as far as I've been able to tell, IBM compat-made maps won't work in the Mac version of HOMMII.

If you have a map you'd like to share, e-mail it to me and I'll test it out. If it passes 'muster' I'll add it to the page and give you credit. The only requirements are that it 1) be well balanced 2) be in good taste and 3) be FUN!

Free Maps

In order to use these maps:

1) Double click on the link to download.

2) Unstuff the file using a program like 'Stuffit Expander', which is freeware.

3) Place the unstuffed file into your MAPS folder within the HOMMII file.

4) Start up HOMMII and choose 'NEW GAME'.

5) Click on 'STANDARD GAME'.

6) In the 'Scenario' window you should now be able to choose the map you downloaded by clicking on the 'Select' button.

Two if by Sea

This challenging adventure starts you out on an island which is surrounded by several foes. Either defeat your 5 foes or earn 500,000 gold to win the game. Don't lose your home castle!

Peninsulas
by Sue

You are the ruler of a large kingdom adjacent to several peninsulas. Defeat your foes to win the game!

Cheats

The following are cheat codes that can be typed during regular game play. (There are more cheat codes for PC compatable versions of HOMMII than there are for Macintosh versions for some reason.)

NOTE: if you use these codes, you will be branded as a cheater in the high game scores!

8675309 = Shows the entire map

911 = Instant win

1313 = Instant lose (why anyone would want to use this is beyond me...)

32167 = puts 5 black dragons in your hero's squad (Can be used multiple times)
