The Rome Study Program is an intensive language and culture program open to all registered undergraduate and graduate students of UT-Austin and to students in good standing from other universities who register at UT-Austin for the summer session.

Fifth Meeting for the Summer 2009 Program

Students can earn 3 to 6 credit hours.

Classes meet for 1 1/2 hours each lesson in a beautiful baroque palace in the historical center of Rome.

There will be guided tours to historical sites in and outside Rome, as well as some optional organized trips on weekends to other cities in Italy. Additional fees for these trips will be announced during the spring semester meetings. The total cost of the program will be announced at the first meeting in October.

Courses:

 

ITL 312K, Second-Year Italian Language and Culture I

ITC 349, Rome, Eternal City: Myths and Realities

ITL 365, Contemporary Italian Culture (upper-division course)

Prerequisites: Any student in good standing who, for ITL 312K, has completed ITL 506 and ITL 507 or ITL 604; or, for ITL 365, who has completed ITL 312L or ITL 612, and who has an overall GPA of 3.0 may apply. There is no prerequisite for enrolling in ITC 349.
