@EDSEL

Well, I decided to build a small tribute page to the very unusual, and indeed, rather infamous car my dad had/has. Currently, the 59 Pacer convertible is in Ontario and not drivable, although it is my belief that given a bit of work by an knowledgeable person, this could be one more car put back on the road to join the Edselmania sweeping the nation. The picture below closely resembles the Edsel, however, this one would be all black, and as mentioned, a ragtop. Here are the specs for the Edsel my dad had

The car in question was acquired by my father in high school when it was known as rather a lemon. The Edsel was a line set up by Edsel Ford and hailed as the car that every family wanted. They did background work and filled it with desired features for the masses, and couldn't give the things away! You may remember an episode of the Simpsons where Homer designs his dream car by invitation of a major manufacturer, only to turn out an unworkable, rather ugly model. Edsel owners and lovers everywhere recognized this to be a parody of their beloved automobile.

Someday I would like to have the Edsel restored as a fun project. Since I am moving to Toronto, this may easier now than in the past. But I am not really in the financial postion to do so, and since I am working on my CA, I don't really have the time. So it will have to wait, beckoning for someone to put it back in its glory on the highways of freedom!

Below, I have listed some quality Ford Edsel sites, please check them out to learn all about this interesting car - there are lots of pictures and data included!
