A tribute to the life of............

Joanne Robinson

She was born 13 July 1951 to Peter & Margaret Robinson in Southsea, Portsmouth. She died Friday, 27 January 1995. She lived the last 20 years in Cambridge, England.

Much loved partner of James Strader from Washington State, USA now living in Arizona.

She graduated with a BA honours in English and French in 1973 at Portsmouth University.

She was born with a serious heart and lung disability which effected her throughout her life and eventually brought her death. She tried to never let her disabilities interfere with her life.

She travelled widely including a round the world trip in 1988.

She was a qualified, professional translator of French and German to English. She was formally employed by First Edition Translation Service in Cambridge. When she became too ill to be employed by someone else, she set up a successful business in her home. She loved her work and always worked hard despite her continually increasing debilitating and often painful disabilities. She was accepting any work that she could still manage even up to the last.

She was always cheerful despite her disabilities and pain. Many people who spoke to her on the telephone never dreamed that she was physically impaired or hurting.

She had many friends whom she genuinely cherished and who cherished her. She valued friendship.

She was even tempered and not a complainer or a nagger.

People who knew her well never heard her make a negative remark about any person. She was not a gossip.

She got along well with others and liked people. She looked for the good side in people. She accepted people as they were without trying to change them.

She tried to live a simple life.

She enjoyed learning and playing challenging games like Scrabble.

She tried to see the entire person instead of just the surface.

She was considerate and thoughtful of others.

She was humble, modest, and unpretentious.

She believed in moderation and didn't go to extremes.

She was tolerant and non judgmental of others.

She had a pleasant personality.

She enjoyed animals and was kind to them.

She was sympathetic and always willing to listen.

She did not hold grudges and forgave readily.

She was brave, optimistic, and had immense spirit.

She is always loved and never forgotten.
