Private charities

In 1996 catholic charities gave 16% more meals and 35% more nights of shelter. Clearly this trend shows that private charities are growing and are perfectly capable of taking care of unemployed people. Of course, the private charities are trapping people in poverty, but the point is that our tax dollars aren't paying for it.

By the way, charities are good employment also. With ghetto unemployment at about 40%, some charities would keep them busy. It would be new for them to actually try working for their dollar!

At least welfare could be privatized. One idea is that corporations can take the money, decide who gets what, then keep what's left over. Profit motive being what it is, I think they'll make sure that nobody gets trapped in welfare by the welfare trap.
