THE LEGEND BEGINS! | |||||||||||||||||||
INTRODUCTION: The character, Kicking Eagle was introduced in the book: The Legend Begins! He is an author and motivational speaker who tours often, speaking on confidence, common sense, patriotism and traditional values. He has signed The Legend Begins! and I Know Ican! at hundreds of cities nationwide at Wal-Mart stores, book stores, and at special events. The "Eagle" name comes from his belief in, and representation of... America. Kicking Eagle, like the American Bald Eagle...represents America. The "Kicking" part of the name is a descriptive adjective, meaning that he stands up for what he believes. To inquire about a Kicking Eagle appearance at a church, school or special event in your community, contact Patty Adair by email at kickingeagleinfo@yahoo.com THE STORY... Once upon a time young Americans had television and radio role-models who represented peace and justice and who promoted self-esteem and traditional values. They included Roy Rogers & Dale Evans, The Lone Ranger, Hopalong Cassidy and Lash LaRue. Times have changed and those role-models have all gone on to their next assignment. Some of the "role-models" who appear on television today appear to have a different philosophy than those heroes of the past. The man introduced in The Legend Begins! is now known worldwide as KICKING EAGLE. He was a small boy on a farm when he watched those earlier heroes ride across the television screen rounding up the "bad guys" and bringing them to justice. The boy was known by a different name then -- just as Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, Hopalong Cassidy and The Lone Ranger had been known by other names when they were younger. As the boy grew, his family moved to Texas and he continued to watch his heroes. He wanted to be like them. He dreamed of being a cowboy, a peace officer, a songwriter and other things that most boys dream about. But unlike some, this boy grew up rodeoing, and later became a horseshoer. He also wrote country songs and promoted and did public relations for several country singers. He promoted what he believed in, with little or no attention to the budget -- or lack of it. He made mistakes...and he learned from them. His mistakes reminded him of learning to ride a tricycle, a bicycle, a horse...and bulls. He learned all those things by "falling off" ... making mistakes...and learning from them. At age of seventeen he joined the U.S. Navy and served at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba during the missle crisis. He continued to learn! Later, he worked at different jobs, but kept shoeing horses because it allowed him to be independent. He remembered how...as a boy, he seemed to be "alone" even when in a crowd. This still held true. Something was missing! He had wanted to be a peace officer and help clean up the country...like his heroes. The man became a peace officer, serving as patrolman, assistant chief, city marshal, and even as a narcotics officer. Something was still missing! He saw things he didn't agree with. He discovered that as long as he wore the badge -- and it didn't matter "what" badge -- he was limited in his abilities to do what should be done. He was dealing with "young Americans" in trouble. He wanted to head them off at the pass like his heroes had headed off the bad guys on television! He looked for role models like those from his early years, but didn't find them. The "role models" on television had certainly changed! He remembered stories from his childhood about an Indian spiritual leader. The stories were many...and he wasn't sure if they were true. Perhaps the Indian was only a myth...or a legend. He searched for the man...and was told that the spiritual leader could be found at "the mountain." When he asked how to find the mountain...he was told: "WASTE NO TIME LOOKING FOR THE MOUNTAIN -- THE MOUNTAIN WILL FIND YOU SOON ENOUGH!" Heading home, the mountain found him. He received his assignment as KICKING EAGLE. He also met his alter-ego -- a young American eagle with a positive attitude. Together they would set out to restore confidence, common sense, patriotism and traditional values to America. They have three gifts from The Creator to do it with: CONFIDENCE, INTEGRITY, and EDUCATION. This is how KICKING EAGLE came to be. He received the name and the assignment because of his mistakes -- and lessons learned. And because he had a vision for the future-- for America! It is important to realize that it is not the man that is important. What is important is the MESSAGE he delivers. KICKING EAGLE ON TOUR "The Eagle" frequently tours nationwide as a motivational speaker, appearing at schools, colleges, churches, town hall meetings, seminars, and special events. HONORS ON THE TRAIL... Eagle has worked with many individuals and organizations, nationwide. He has been recognized and honored by many Native American and other organizations. He also received keys to the city and proclamations from mayors of cities recognizing his motivational work. He has appeared on hundreds of radio and television programs coast to coast. With friends and fans worldwide, Kicking Eagle is truly the Ambassador of The People. His books are read by people of all ages, cultures, races, spiritual beliefs and economic levels.
