William Gibson was appointed Chief of Police in November 2002, after having served a number of years as Deputy Chief with the Tupelo Police Department.  Prior to that Chief Gibson served distinctively as a senior agent with the US Treasury Department - Internal Revenue Service - Criminal Investigation Division.  The Chief enjoys raising and training Labrador Retrievers for competition in field sports competitions in his spare time.  Recently he and two teammates traveled with their dogs to Northern Ireland where they were the first US gundog team to compete in the International Retriever Challenge.  The Chief's team won the competion outright and also took home the Atlantic Cup.  Click on the link below for more details.
