The LWV holds public monthly meetings to hear speakers and discuss issues of public interest. See Calendar below. Currently, issues are: "Get Out the Vote," campaign finance reform, health care reform, land use and walkways and bikeways); Brazos County Health Issues (particularly relating to older adults) as well as looking at the future of our local public schools.
The League publishes "Voting in Texas" with information on elected officials and voting precincts and "Voters Guide" with candidate information. We sponsor candidate forums and programs for the public on topics of general interest. Non-partisan political literature is available upon request.

LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL VOTER INFORMATION
The League of Women Voters of Texas (LWVTX) and the League of Women Voters of the United States (LWVUS) mark their 80th birthdays in 2000! Thousands of women & men believe that truthful, non-partisan information must be available to voters if our democracy is to flourish. These citizens willing give time, energy and money to stand up for democracy. Now it is our turn, we can do no less.
