Twas the night before the election, and all through the land,
every politician was scrambling with a tin cup in hand,
and the media kept watching, vultures they were,
while pretending to be objective, with each subtle slur. While americans were still sleeping glued to their sets the weasels in congress were placing their bets, they had built an empire with a mountain of dough, so they could say or do anything, to keep status quo.
Yet the people remained oblivious, practically unable to think, for given the opportunity, they still voted in sync.
Half for the regular guy, half for the other, a landslide for stupidity, four more years in the gutter.
Whatever happened to the freedom we yearned, when this nation rose from the tyranny it spurned.
Have we become so pathetic that we lost our nerve, that we willingly wallow in the politically absurd.
Then seek out the answers, by studying our past, for there you will find our future at last.
For madison and washington, madison and paine there is immeasurable wisdom just waiting to be gained.
