I've had a long interest in government (less of it). My parents were always involved in politics as a thorn in the side of the local political machine. As many libertarians can say, my introduction to libertarian thinking came from Ayn Rand. I read Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged when I was in the hospital for a few weeks in my early twenties. I found a lot of truth in what she had to say. I joined the Libertarian Party in 1980 have been more or less active with the party and other libertarian groups over the ensuing years.
I subscribe to the idea of volunteerism. I believe the libertarian commandment "THOU SHALL NOT AGGRESS" is vital to a civil society.
