First Baptist has a grand heritage of ministry in Columbia. Organized in 1823 as the very first church in Columbia, we are also one of the oldest continuing Baptist churches in Missouri. While we are a people open to the larger Christian community, we especially seek to express in our worship and ministry the Baptist Identity in all its diversity. We are affiliated with the American Baptist Churches, USA, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, and the Alliance of Baptists.
