Moves Due In By :
During the games that I host, we try to get in at least 1 move a day. I tend to
generate moves during my lunch hour (about Noon EST, 5PM GMT) and send them out by 1 PM. I
do ask that the players make sure that their moves are in by 10 AM (EST, 3 PM GMT). My
E-mail box is located on AOL, and sometimes, due to web volume, e-mail can run a little
slow. So by getting moves in by 10 AM should insure that your move makes it to me by Noon.
I will generate at Noon (EST, 5PM GMT), all players moves in or not. I know that
waiting for a move when in a good game can be annoying. So I like to keep the game rolling
along. Sometimes delay can't be help. Problems on the host side. Problems with players
ISPs and people just asking for a little more time can also cause unscheduled delays. If
you will be late in sending in your move, let me know ahead to time and I will try to wait
for you.
Player Interaction:
I have found that the games I enjoy the most are ones that have roll playing. Mostly
because it help to fill the time in between the moves and adds to the battles in the game.
If you want to just play a "Kill everyone to the end" without much interaction
with your fellow players, my games are not for you. Play the STARS game in single user
mode against the A.I.s (artificial Intelligence - computer races) or find one of the other
hosts that run such games. I find them boring, so I try not to host those types of games.
I will also ask my players to write a race description before each game starts. The
descriptions are then posted my STARS Current Games page. This allows the other players in
the game to see how you view your race. For an example of a race description, see the Yoluns description I used in another game run by another
host.
