UPDATED 31 December 1999

Scottish Worldwide Radio is a group of CBers, radio amateurs and short wave radio enthusiast in Central Scotland attempting to promote goodwill amongst nations by communicating with similar minded people overseas. All QSOs (radio contacts) are confirmed by means of QSL cards recording the details of the contact, time, signal strength, readability etc., for the QSO.

The group is presently composed of seven members so our QSL cards are fairly exclusive:

At present Brian is the current champion and has contacted in the region of 100 countries but is too modest to let us know the exact number. In all probability he doesn't actually know how many and cannot be bothered to count - this rather puts the rest of us in our place! At present all of the groups QSL cards feature the Scottish flag which, if you don't know, is called variously the Saltire or St. Andrew's Cross. Here is another example:

However, we are presently giving some thought to producing some new QSL cards (no, before you ask they are not MILLENNIUM ones!) with Scotland's 'other flag' the Lion Rampant on it. This flag is a very striking rearing-up lion on a bright yellow background with a red border. When the final design of the card is decided upon, an example will be put up on these pages.

The group normally operates on FM and USB and uses a range of equipment from a number of manufacturers, including:

Links to Other CB, Short Wave Sites

Having browsed the web recently for information about CB radio in the UK, we have noticed that using search engines is not the most efficient method as far too many of the sites have a US bias. Therefore, we decided to construct a UK specific page with CB news and regulations. In addition here is a list of sites that are either UK based or good general CB sites or resource pages:
