This is Linderhof Castle, the main home of King Ludwig.  It was located only about an hour away from Neuschwanstein.  He had a lot of stuff on the grounds.  He had the world largest man-made cave, a hunting lodge, an oriental room, and a middle-eastern lodge.  The grounds are beautiful. Behind this view is a hill with a monument on it that is surrounded by over 50,000 flowers.

The interior of Linderhof was much more ornate than Neuschwanstein, probably because there was enough time for it to be completed.  This is the music room, which had one of twp porcelin peacocks in it.  They were only put out when the king was home, so guests knew to be on their best behavior.

This is the dining room.  Ludwig was a very shy and private person, and didn't even want to be seen while eating.  Another point that shows this and the modernism of his castles is the table.  When dinner was ready the servants turned a crank in the basement and the floor opened up and the table sunk down into the kitchen where a full meal fit for a king was placed.  They then cranked it back up to him so he could eat.  On top of the table is a porcelin vase, with porcelin roses.  They are very detailed, right down to the leaves with thorns.

This is the oriental house at Linderhof.  I didn't get to go inside because it isn't open in the winter.  The pictures of it are impressive though.
