Vinson Base Camp is located 200 km to the North West of Patriot Hills Camp. This small camp serves as the main staging post for expeditioners wishing to climb nearby Mt. Vinson, the highest peak in Antarctica.  Climbers are flown in by Twin Otter, which takes about an hour and camp in their own tents around the main base tent. Clijmbers normally take two to three days in good weather to tackle the route to the summit with an ALE guide.
