AH-64A Apache

The AH-64A Apache was first introduced in 1985 and has begun a new era of capability for the aviation units of the United States Army. Over the past years many lesons have been learned about the value of helichopters in suporting ground units. In vietnam we had the AH-1 Cobra, it was the backbone of th Armys Air calvlry and very capable. However the cobra still fell short of the armys need. Because is was lacking in a few areas such as payload, surivability and all-weather capability. The army , unsatisfyed with the Cobra began seeking a new aircraft. The Apache is an amazing aircraft with the ability to survive over a hostle environment, carry sufficient quantities of fuel and operates in any weather and at night.
