Rural Retreat in the French Countryside

The cottage overlooks vines and mixed farming and is on the edge of the Dordogne/Lot et Garonne border. We are five minutes away by car to a shop that has fresh bread and croissants every morning. Bergerac airport is 35 mins drive. We are situated on a hill overlooking the surrounding countryside in between the bastide towns of Eymet (Thursday morning market) and Ste Foy La Grande (Saturday morning market).

The surrounding area has many interesting places to visit, all within easy driving distance. St Emillion, a truly delightful town, is nestled  amongst many famous wineries. In the opposite direction there are the very picturesque towns of Bergerac, Sarlat, Domme and Beynac.

However if your idea is of not venturing far and having a relaxing holiday in the immediate surrounds there is plenty to help you  unwind.  Numerous fruit trees are in the garden where you can help yourself to whatever is in season. Fresh herbs are growing outside the cottage for your use. The garden leads down to a lovely country walk  for those energetic enough and there is also another longer walk that takes you past the local Chateau whose looming presence dominates the area.  For the more energetic we also have two bicycles available.

 

The cottage consists of terrace with barbecue facilities and seating. The kitchen/living area has all the necessary equipment for your stay. Dishwasher, washing machine Satellite TV (UK free to air) .The two bedrooms both have their own bathroom, one bedroom has two single beds and the upstairs bedroom has a queen sized bed.
