POEMS
AND TOMORROW
today is filled with anger, fueled with hidden hate
scared of being outcast, afraid of common fate
today is build on tradgies which no one want's to face
nightmares to humanity and morrally disgraced
tonight is filled with rage, violence in the air
children bred with ruthlessness cause no one at home cares
tonight i lay my head down but the pressure never stops
knowing my sanity content when im dropped
but tomorrow i see change, a chance to build a new
build on spirt intent of heart and ideas based on truth
tomorrow i wake up with second wind and strong because of pride
i know i fought with all my heart to keep the dream alive

FALLEN STAR
they could never understand, what u sent out to do
instead they chose to ridicule u
when u got weak, they loved the sight
of your dimming, and flickering starlight
how could they understand, what was so intricate
to be loved by so many, so intimate
they wanted to see your lifeless corpse
this way you could not alter your course
of ignorance that they have set
to make my people forget
what thay have done for much to long
to just forget and carry on
i had loved you foreverbecause of who you are
and now i mourn our fallen star

PRIDE IN THE PANTHER
can you see the pride in the panther,
as she glows with splendor and grace
topplong obstacles in the way,
of the progression of her race
can u see the pride in the panthe,
as she nurtures her young all alone
the seed must grow regardless,
of the fact it is planted in stone
cant u see the pride in the panthers,
as they unify as one
the flower blooms with brilliance,
and out shines the rays of the sun

FAMILY TREE
because we all sprang from different trees,
does not mean we are not created equal
is it true beauty in the tree
or in the vast forest in which it breathes
they must fight to breed
among the evils of the weeds
i find greatness in the tree
that grows aginst all odd
it blossoms in the darkness
and gives birth to promiseing odds
i was that tree that grew from weeds
and wasnt ment to be

THE ROSE THAT GREW FROM CONCRETE
did u hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?
proving nature"s law is wrong it learned to walk without haveing feet
funny it seems, but by keeping it's dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air
long live the rose that grew from the concrete when no one else cared

AT THE AGE OF 25
i still remember the day....fall was well on its way
it began in an ordinary way no different than today
i popped in a CD and let it play
i listened to what u had to say
i slumped back in my couch resting in a slouch
i absorbed as much as i could and fell into your grove
time progressed and before long nighfall was coming along
i could barely see light but it was holdin on with all it's might
my session was complete, a sample of ur inspiration was a treat
as my stero fell silent and my crystal ball came to life
thats how it all began, too much for me to understand
an idol to me how could this be
at the age of 25, caught in the middle of genocide
at the age of 25, i assumed it was homicide
at the age of 25, i too can see through your eyes
at the age of 25,yes, you should still be alive
the streets we shared gave me sight
you were one who powered the light
a stranger to me.. a stranger to u
all my dreams faded away on this day
when u were robbed in a violent way
only one had the authority to say it was ur day
god didnt want u that way
like a theif in the night u were taken away
whose choice was t to say
i now see the irony of Poetic Justice
on that night you really touched us
from then on,it that too, i believed
your visions and your talents were easy to see
you were a hero to many even me
so..when i heard the news
it gave me the blues
i didnt want it to be true
so.. i bowed my head to pray for u
i asked the LORDto guide u and protect you throught your journey
and to comfort your family with an embrace
and to keep them all safe and warm well after the storm
your legacy will live on in our hearts, where you have become a vital part

A YOUNG HEART WITH AN OLD SOUL
a toung heart with an old soul how can there be peace
how can i be in the depths of solitude
when there are two inside of me
this duo in me causes the perfect opporunity
to learn and live twice as fast
as those who accept simplicity......
father forgive us for living
why are all my homies stuck in prison
barely breathing believing that this world is a prison
its like a ghetto we can never leave
a broken rose giving bloom through the cracks of the concrete
so many things for us to see
things to be
our history so full of tragedy and misery
to all my homies who never made it home
the dead peers i shed tattoed tears for when im alone
pictures us inside a ghetto heaven
a place to rest finding peace through this land of stress
in my chest i feel pain come in sudden stormd
a life full of rain in this game watch for land thorns
our unborn never got to grow never got to see whats next
in this world filled with countless threats
i beg to find GOD to find a way for our ghetto kids to breath
show a sign make us all belive

DEATH AROUND THE CORNER
i see death around the corner
gotta stay high
will i survive
in the city where the skinny niggas die
if they bury me
bury me as a G, nigga
no need to worry
i expect retaliation in a hurry

R.I.P
Tupac's alive yeah, that niggaz not dead
he has already survived several shots to the head
With all the songs that niggaz done sung
I know he's alive with a bullet in his lung
He always said to "Bury Him A G"
and then he faked his death so he could see
How this crazy world would accept and react
to this pre-planned death of an infamous rapper
Tupac's a thug and he's "Str8 Ballin'"
and if you supplied your phone number that niggaz callin'
He has love for California and for all the west sidaz
and as you already know that niggaz a "Riddah"
Recievin' caps to the head and gettin' shot in the knee
and if your "Pain" runs deep then just share it with me
"To Live And Die In L.A." but fakin' deaths in Vegas see
Tupac ain't dead he's a livin' legacy
Always "Gettin' around" and carryin' his chrome
and if you need to visualize just "Picture Him Rollin'"
On June 1-6 in 7-1 he was born in Brooklyn, New York
when he was growin' up he ran with crabs and forks
"Keep Your Head Up" Brenda, "I Know You Have A Baby"
"They Wouldn't Call You Names" if you were a normal lady
Now he has a gun "Pullin' The Hammer Back And Cocked It"
"They Had A Party At His Funeral Let Every Rapper Rock It"
"And All The Hoes That He Used To Know From Way Before,
Kissed Him From His Head To His Toes"
To everyone out there, and if your runnin' the streets
let our nigga Tupac ressurect in peace.

that rhymed with the rest of the poem)
UNTITLED
You've been gone for nearly a year now.
It feels like it's been so long.
Last year at this time, you were kicked back wit a blunt just
writin another song.
There's so many questions I, as a woman, wish I could ask,
But the world as we know it has made even the simplest
gesture and ongoing task.
It sometimes feels as though my life will shortly end,
Then there are times when the world is the best of a friend.
I'm filled with emotions that I can no longer hide...
There are emotions I don't even recognize deep down inside.
Your words brought out the best in me.
That part of my life is something only tru souljahs can see.
My mind is growing wiser yet my heart feels torn.
Sometimes life makes me feel weak and worn,
However, I'll always be content knowing your there looking down on me,
And I know one day I'll be there with you when my soul is set free.

POETIC THUG
LISTENING TO THE LYRICS OF MY IDOL TUPAC SHAKUR
I LEARNED WHEN I FALL TO STAND TALL AND COME BACK 4 MORE
FORTUNE AND FAME DIDN'T COME QUICK TO HIM BUT HE KEPT TRYING AND WAITED
KNOWING THAT IF IT DIDN'T COME HIS THUG LIFE STYLE AND COURAGE COULD
NEVER BE FADED
HE HAD MORE COURAGE, AMBITION, AND DESIRE THAN MOST
HE THREW UP "WESTSIDE", LOVED HIS DEATH ROW, AND DESPISED THE EAST COAST
IN '94 HE SHOWERED WITH BULLETS THAT NEARLY MARKED HIS DEATH
HE THEN CLAIMED TO BE A "BADBOY" KILLA UNTIL HIS LAST BREATH
DOWN WITH SUGE KNIGHT, SNOOP DOGG, AND THE POUND
HIS LYRICS AND STLYE TOUCHED THOSE WHOM ARE DOWN
LOOKING TO CLAIM THE LIVES OF BIGGY SMALLS AND MOBB DEEP
KNOWING THOSE TWO HAD NIGHTMARES OF PAC AT NIGHT IN THEIR SLEEP
HE TALKED ABOUT RISING FROM VIOLENCE BUT LOVING YOUR HOOD
TO THOSE LESS FORTUNATE HIS WORDS WERE TOUCHING, BUT YET UNDERSTOOD
SOCIETY LABELED HIM AS EVIL, VIOLENT, AND VILLIAN
BUT HIS WORDS PRAISED ALL COLORS AND SHOWED LOVE FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN
BIGGY SMALLS TRIED TO CLAIM 2 PAC'S LAST BREATH
BUT IN MARCH OF '97 BIGGY MET HIS OWN TRAGIC DEATH
THE SO CALLED DEATH OF TUPAC, ALSO KNOWN AS MAKAVELLI, LEFT THE RAP INDUSTRY
AND THE WORLD AT HAULT,
NOT KNOWING IF WHAT HAPPENED WAS HIS OWN OR SOCIETIES FAULT
PAC DEAD OR ALIVE, IF YOU OUT THERE SOME WHERE
YOUR LYRICS LIVE ON, YOUR STYLE IS MISSED, AND MANY STILL CARE
